the entry that's blah

snooze... my life is starting to drone on. this has been a absolute week of boring nothingness. zilch. nada. zen-like

perhaps i have been resting on my laurels for way too long. my self-imposed sabbatical didn't turn out to be as enriching or rejuvenating as i had expected. the only highlight, if it could be considered to be so, was that my pink eye problem has been resolved (yeah!). on the other hand, my stiff neck plight is still resident (boo...).

Stiff neck? Is it bad sleeping posture? I do get that quite often a lot, and I have not much remedy except the Tiger Balm treatment, which isn't effective all of the time. Readers' Digest once recommended stretching, by slowly bending your body forward and touching your toes and again slowly back to the original position. Hope it works.

The nothingness is being felt by everyone everywhere, I guess, unless, of course, you're like Tara Reid or Paris Hilton types. I do get my daily/weekly/monthly dosage. The important thing is, to look at it with a "it's life with its ups & downs" behaviour; it's generally how you manage it.

On that note, have a nice weekend wherever will be. And don't think too much - it's a Friday afterall.

let me count thee ways i've tried to alleviate the problem. stretching my neck, massaging it, massaging it with ointment, massaging it with aromatic essence. none of them worked. i am this close to looking for a sinseh/chiropractor.

I've bought this pillow from the fair last 1-2 wks from PS, and Hell.. got abit cheated.. my pillow's sinking and my stiff neck comes. I use 2 pillows to sleep now...

Meanwhile try exercising more - not your gym exercise, but flexibility types. I am doing Yoga and pilates and It's cool.

You might wanna take a look at the pillow you are sleeping on. Perhaps it doesn't suit you, hence the stiff neck. I used to have that problem quite regularly, until I changed my pillow!

Sometimes the solution is right under your nose, quite literally. =P

(rayning) yoga is a little out of my league, i might try basic stretching exercises more before hitting the gym. about the pillow that you got, sometimes they might have air-packed it real tight, so it feels quite stuffed when actually it's the contrary. i am using the memory foam pillow from Tempur, and still it's no good!

(anonymous) you're right. getting the right pillow rather than getting an expensive pillow is more important. hmm... how about posturepedic?

Hmm... Probably you can change your current lifestyle. Say if you normally wake up late and sleep late, try waking up early and sleep early. Go out for breakfast and observe people... You'll get to experience a different lifestyle you are so new to and probably you may get to find something or someone interesting?

If you have the tendancy of being in a 'don't-know-what-to-do-next' situation, then it's better for you to plan the day before you execute.

All these may sound dumb depending how much you can take it.

Oh, and try not to drive if you're driving. Experience a different lifestyle and meet people.

(763092) i get it. breaking away from my monotony right? that said, doing it is a little more difficult. but thanks for the advise. sounds like i will do something different from tomorrow onwards. that is if i don't procrastinate. >.<

Jia you! Just bring an open mind and look forward for something different tomorrow.

And tell us in your blog. =)

I 'saw' you on Saturday, you seemed alright, but then on the surface.

Well, it all depends how important is it for you to break out of that monotony. I guess if it doesn't bring to to the brink of jumping off the building, there's no harm in itself.

(763092) dang! i'm stuck in this late-night cycle rut. gotta take sleeping pills to sleep now.

(musik) sorry if i appeared to be so, i wasn't feeling the best, as i was down with (after pink eye, stiff neck, and now this!) flu/fever. by the way, what's your definition of on the surface?

(rayning) i hope i won't be blogging about that soon, no?

Anonymous said...

my definition of "on the surface" means that you may just be smiling and happily going around, but on the inside you may be feeling something else.

Anyhow, I hope you had had a good shopping day that day.

iruffcookiedough said...

no frets, i am really all smiley, inside and out. maybe i was thinking of something? like what to get for myself as a reward for getting out of the house? >_<

... and you got something worthwhile? I think I saw you with some carriers by the time you entered the store I was working at.

iruffcookiedough said...

yeah i did, some necessities for wardrobe updating. =]

You might wanna try Seahorse Brand memory pillow. They have been around for years with this product and I guess there must be a reason for it. lol~

Byebye to stiff neck soon!

P.S. I am still the same anon. lol~
