the entry about my pet peeves

1. people who take the elevator to go up/down just one floor (complete waste of other people's time).

2. bigoted pedestrians who give the haughty oh-i-am-so-significant mien after giving way to them.

3. nose-diggers who perform in public (see the entry of gold nuggets).

4. office ladies who use packets of tissue paper to "chope" seats, thinking that it's completely legit (not!)

5. friends who borrow and promise to return within certain timeframe but take forever to repay their dues. (so much for "a friend in need is a friend indeed")

6. friends who mumble, then frustratingly say "never mind lah!" when you ask them to repeat themselves cos naturally you can't hear them only because they are speaking at the decibel level of a housefly.

7. being put on hold forever .... and then getting disconnected.

8. drivers who take forever to leave a parking space when others (i.e. me) are clearing waiting for it.

9. parents who let their kids roam around in stores/restaurants and scream thinking the rest of us are yearning to hear it. (no we aren't!!!)

10. people who write pet peeves lists like this.

What an interesting post you've here. Let me see...

I agree to #1. Complete waste of time. #2 is irritating too. Not to mention #3 as well. As for #4, I view it as Singapore's culture. Even ang moh gotta adapt to us. Though personally I don't favour it.

#6 hmm... seems familiar. Haha! I'm the one I think. My interpretation is I don't wanna yell at you. LOL! It's either I speak nicely, or I gotta raise my voice, which in the long-run would hurt my vocal badly.

I really find Singaporeans as ungracious people when compared to people from Taiwan or elsewhere. I was somewhat shocked to experience impeccable service and manners from the stores and people there. They are so polite and friendly. Singaporeans really gotta reflect and change our attitudes.

Let's improve! =)

Adding on to your list,
People calling you loud when they know nothing about being loud.

hahaha~ I love this entry man~?!
I really can't understand why ppl take elevator but only just up/down one floor man...not only waste ppl time also boost up the speed of global warming and energy waste...

and and and...

I think Singapore should provide "Walking Management" in the market in order to teach those ppl HOW TO WALK efficiency... For me if I meet ppl who are haughty I will take chance walk in front of him/her block her way! XD so evil..

those who borrow money I think only super good friends will do that ba.. no?

There is a way to break singapore "tissue = chop seat culture".. Just simply put the tissue away.. if the ask back their seat act innocent and tell them I am tourist! XD hahaha~ 100% effective~

if kids scream then purposely show their parent your disturbing expression~ they will paiseh one.

(763092) me thinks you like taiwan as much as i do. personally, i favor the culture there too. =]

(anonymous) like totally!!

(rex) some parents are basically oblivious to the fact that their children are screaming to their ears even.. sigh, just gotta stay away from these places.

bring the children to lost and found department. XD

11. drivers who zig zag lanes and are unapologetic about it.

Eww. Kids' misdemeanor pisses me off.. they should seriously consider posting a sign on the holding poles stating " THESE ARE FOR HOLDING, SO BACK OFF LADIES & UR SILLY POLE DANCES"

Totally cool with tissue chope.. I'll use ma brolly - chope 3 seats with a real long 1.

mine would be indecisive pedestrians and car owners.. both are trying to be nice giving way to one another they get so oblivious to other cars behind or pedestrians who's waiting~

12. We can still be friends (when we can't!)

hi all, try to look from another angle and use the pet peeves as a learning material. Remind yourself and not to do the same.

Don’t you think it is better than to get angry with or feel frustrated with what others are doing? :)

MA you got another protector!

Anonymous said...

Yup. I heart Taiwan!!! I like the people, the food, the transport, the service... I love almost everything in Taiwan. Oh, and shopping malls and shopping! Though the temperature there is worse than Singapore, the humidity level is much better I felt. =)

What you like about Taiwan?

YUCKSSSSS. OMG GOLDEN NUGGETS SOUNDS DISGUSTING ENOUGH!

AND I HATE PEOPLE WHO PERFORM 'THE REMOVAL OF ARMPIT HAIRS' IN THE PUBLIC, OR SAY RIGHT INTO YOUR FACE. WWWWTTTTTFFFF? HAHA.

iruffcookiedough said...

(rex) yeah, idea... haha!

(tyc) erm... sometimes i do do that, so i don't think that qualifies as my pet peeve or should qualify as anyone's just because. haha!

(rayning) but the giving way attitudes should be encouraged instead of being frowned upon ah, shouldn't it? though, they should hasten their act.

(anonysmous) thanks ah, i know lah! >.<

(anonymous puddilicious) thanks for the nice words. i seldom msn, perhaps chat through here

Hi, I happened to stumble upon your blog and what a refreshing AND thoroughly entertaining read your blog has been!
:)

And you just started this like...4 months ago? Great blog (I think)! Hmm, I shd do something abt my now semi-disfunct blog...

Anyway, wanted to say hi and couldn't resist heaping praises.
;)

I have one more peeve (though you might not relate as I gather you drive?): Can't stand the people at MRT stations (esp during peak times) who stand at the entrance to rush unto the train, BEFORE anyone else is able to make their way out!

Cheerios!.

I am just a passerby who happened to chance upon your blog and had a good time reading it so thought I let you know.

Hope it wasn't too intrusive?

(rayning) Thanx! Yesh, sometimes wish one can scream at the "Door Gods"...only that would probably make me quite deranged too no?

A chat room it is indeed. But I guess the random banter adds flavour and colour to your cookie dough so that is good rite?
;)

Sure I can intro myself...
But I don't have a link that I can post for you guys to learn about me though... (my blog is an interest-blog so doesn't talk about me at all)

Hmmm, I guess if it helps, and pls don't laugh at what is to come (anguished look) I will answer any questions directed to my email: tempted13@hotmail.com

Vulgar anonymity is detestable. Take your hate somewhere else you unloved and pathetic soul.

Some people have serious issues about themselves, and I recommend them to take 40 hrs off and look into the mirror and see how they played their lives.

I consider, that you are not right. Let's discuss it. levitra I confirm. So happens. We can communicate on this theme.
