just to backtrack a little for the misinformed, i was invited to a posh restaurant for a luncheon, exorbitant et al, because, well, i had the providence of being the achiever in the top three producers in prudential. so, it was meant to be, that i plumped my ass at one of the fanciful eatery du jour, fifty-three, where they served modern euro cuisine. setting-wise, it was perfect, but i am never much of a conversationalist when it comes to such affairs. so my pictures did the talking. here's some:

It's seems you are trying too hard to speak Victorian English that it seems a little too unnatural. what does "pretentious petite nosh displayed in an aesthetically albeit inexplicable composition" mean...All I know is that you need a dictionary/thesaurus beside you 24/7 to help with this massacring of the English language. Aiyoh, you only educated in NUS, not in Oxford or Harvard...I even know Shengwu Li(LKY grandson) FYI, double first class honours...he doesn't speak or write like this...

Victorian literature corresponded to the Victorian era (1837-1901) and was a leading style of English literature by novelists. Charles Dickens was a good example, when he often comment on social issues of the era in his books. I really don't see how this blog mutilate the English language... its just a form of writing.
The fact that the 'elitist' reader, who subjected the blogger to personal attacks, may suggest that not only he was bitter (for reasons unknown), he wasn't able to appreciate the English language at all...
