the entry about taking it off

so tomorrow is going to be the moment of truth. after three hundred and eighteen hours of confined rest, chugging tons of brands chicken essence and chicken tonic, and noshing fish for almost every other meal (apparently, this white meat is good for recovery of wounds), the sixteen stitches as a consequence of my unbridled stupidity would be removed.

even now, as i gingerly brush my fingers across the contusion, i could still feel crusts of dried-up blood tied up in knots with the stitches, not to mention a dose of marked pain along the bump still. i am a little iffy about my wounds having fully recovered, and if not so, the agony tomorrow would be abso-fucking-lutely excruciating. i am totally not looking forward to it.

nevertheless, i'm praying with clasped hands, that in twenty-fours' time, i'll be up and dandy, and ready to trudge myself and my lazy ass back to work after this hiatus. meanwhile, i am kicking at the ladder ferociously which caused my downfall, literally. damn you, ladder!

Help! I'm the Wongs' ladder. There I was minding my own business one night when Desmond grabs me and sets me up against the house. I could tell he'd been drinking from the rough way he handled me, and I shouted, "Hey, don't climb me! You're drunk." But did he listen? No. (Nobody ever listens to me. I wonder why?) So he has this terrible accident. Believe me, it was traumatic for me to witness. And now he's saying it was my fault. He's even started kicking me. Ouch!

Can somebody rescue me from this crazy human?

(A gentleman in Tokyo who can read ladders' minds from a distance is posting this for me, but he's too far away to help. [Plus, I think he may be a little crazy too, though he's probably kind to ladders.])

Your ladder is right about me. In fact I'm kind to _all_ defenseless objects and creatures. You should be too! But I hope your procedure tmrw isn't too painful. Be brave! And you can be proud of yourself at least for sticking (more or less) to the prescribed regime for the past week. Good for you!

Your occasional fan,

(王阶梯) even the ladder speaks! i'm beginning to freak out already.

(jeremywhipple) i am glad the procedure was done in a jiffy. the doctor who removed the stitches was really good at what he was doing. impressed much.

(anewfanofurblog) i was still appealing for anaesthesia when the doc assured me it would be painless. i was cringing in vain when i realised how truly painless it was.
